Brennan, Edward http://catalog.wrhs.org/collections/view?docId=ead/MS4863.xml Edward Brennan (1898-ca. 1959) was one of the many Irish nationals who emigrated from Ireland to the United States in the early twentieth century. He married Anne (aka Annie) Carty (1892-1935) in Castlerea, County Roscommon, Ireland, on June 24, 1927. They arrived in New York in the late 1920s. Shortly thereafter, they traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, as Annie had a sister living in Cleveland at that time. Edward was born in Boyle, County Roscommon and Anne came from Roscommon town, County Roscommon, Ireland. Prior to coming to the United States, Edward worked as a shop assistant for D.I. Finnegan in Castlerea, County Roscommon for five years. In Cleveland, he obtained employment from the Chase, Brass and Copper Company as a shipping clerk from 1935 until 1953. The family lived on East 114th Street and St. Clair Avenue in Cleveland. Edward frequented the West Side Irish American Club in Cleveland.
